HubSpot stores deals, contacts, companies and line items, which is most of what a quote, contract or proposal needs. HubSpot itself covers quotes. For other documents, teams add a marketplace app or connect a document generation tool through an automation platform. Prices in this guide were checked on 20 Oct 2026.
The native option
HubSpot Quotes creates quotes with e-signature and payments on the Professional and Enterprise editions. Quotes are built with a visual template and can be shared as a web page or a PDF. The feature is part of those HubSpot editions, and HubSpot does not show a separate price for it, so treat pricing as on request.
Quotes is limited to quotes. Contracts, onboarding packs, statements and reports need another tool. Teams on Starter editions also need another tool for quotes.
The Zapier, Make or n8n path
A HubSpot workflow can start generation when a deal or contact changes. When a tool has no HubSpot app, Zapier or Make carries the deal properties to it and returns the file.
- SourceToDocs reaches HubSpot through Zapier, Make or n8n on its Pro plan. It uses Google Docs templates and writes Google Slides, Google Docs, PDF, PPTX and DOCX.
- Plumsail Documents reaches HubSpot through Zapier or Make. It uses Word templates and outputs PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. A third-party review lists it from $25 a month billed annually for 200 documents; there is a 30-day trial.
- Portant uses Google Docs or Word templates and connects through its HubSpot app and through Zapier. It starts from $42 a month billed annually, and the free plan covers 30 documents a month.
- Formstack Documents connects to HubSpot and to Zapier, with DocuSign for signatures. It is sold in the Formstack Suite plan from $250 a month paid annually, with 250 deliveries a month.
Each document run through Zapier or Make also counts toward that platform’s task or operation limits.
Dedicated tools
These tools read HubSpot records directly, usually through an app installed from the HubSpot marketplace.
- Documint uses a visual builder and outputs PDF with e-signature envelopes included. It starts from $39 a month billed annually, with a 14-day trial and no free plan.
- PDF CreateMate is a HubSpot app with line items and e-signature that outputs PDF and DOCX. It has a free tier; paid pricing is on request and the vendor page did not load when checked.
- DocuGen uses Word templates and outputs DOCX, XLSX, PDF and e-signature documents. It starts from $25 a month, and the free plan produces watermarked PDFs only.
- CloudFiles uses Word templates and adds document sharing and tracking. It outputs PDF and DOCX, and pricing is on request.
- ChiliDocs is a HubSpot document automation engine with more than 100 installs. Its outputs and domain are unverified on this site, and pricing is on request.
Proposal and e-signature suites such as PandaDoc and Qwilr also read HubSpot. They are listed as adjacent tools on the HubSpot to PDF page, below the document generation tools.
Which route to pick
If you only send quotes and you already pay for a Professional or Enterprise edition, use HubSpot Quotes. It keeps quoting and payment inside HubSpot.
If you need other document types, start with the template editor. Teams that write in Google Docs or Word can maintain Portant, DocuGen or Plumsail templates. A visual builder, as in Documint, suits people who lay out pages by hand.
Line items are the usual sticking point. A quote or order form loops over the deal’s line items into a table. PDF CreateMate’s record notes line item support; for the other tools the records on this site do not confirm it yet, so build one real quote during the trial.
Volume and pricing model come next. Usage plans count documents: Plumsail starts at 200 a month and Formstack Documents at 250 deliveries. If you send a few documents a week, a free tier may be enough to start; Portant gives 30 documents a month.
Finally, decide who owns the setup. A marketplace app with a workflow trigger can be run by a HubSpot admin. The Zapier route suits teams that already manage automations there. For every HubSpot option, including Word and slide outputs, see document generation for HubSpot.
